Delivery note

What is delivery note?

A delivery note is the document a supplier sends with a delivery, listing the goods it says are in the consignment. It usually carries the supplier's name, a delivery note number, the customer's purchase order reference and each product with its quantity.

In the US the same document is often called a packing slip. The delivery note is the supplier's claim about what was sent. The receiving team checks the goods against it and the purchase order, then records what was accepted on the GRV (GRN elsewhere).

Why it matters

The delivery note is usually paper, often annotated by hand, and frequently filed in a tray until someone captures it. Its references decide which purchase order a delivery belongs to, so a missing or wrong reference slows everything that follows.

How Weeva handles it

Goods Receiving Automation reads the delivery note from a phone or tablet photo, or from an email, including multi-page notes. It extracts the supplier, references, lines, and batch and expiry where printed, then finds the matching purchase order in your ERP.
