Sales order
What is sales order?
A sales order is the record a supplier creates in its own system to confirm what it will deliver to a customer, at what price and when. It usually starts from the customer's purchase order: the customer's document becomes the supplier's sales order once it is captured.
The sales order drives picking, delivery, invoicing and stock allocation in the ERP. It carries the customer account, delivery address and payment terms, and one line per product with quantity, unit of measure and price.
Why it matters
Every downstream step reads the sales order. A wrong product, unit or price on it becomes a wrong pick, a wrong delivery and a wrong invoice. Each one takes a credit note or a phone call to put right. Re-typing purchase orders into sales orders is where those errors usually enter.
How Weeva handles it
Sales Order Automation reads the customer's purchase order in any format and matches the buyer to your customer list and every line to your catalogue. It applies the customer's price list and creates the sales order in your ERP by API. Anything uncertain goes to a person first, and every change is recorded.
